Saddle Up This Summer

You don't have to be a rider to belong here. The Educated Horsemen Adult Summer Camp is a relaxed, social evening experience designed for adults who want to try something completely different — and leave with a story worth telling.

You and up to four friends join a one-hour group riding lesson led by Mr. Ray. No experience necessary. He meets every rider exactly where they are and makes sure the whole group feels confident and safe in the saddle. After your lesson, the farm is yours. Settle in at the picnic tables, breathe in the open air, and stay as long as you like — sessions run until 9pm. Cold water is provided. Bring your own beverages and enjoy the kind of evening that is hard to find this close to the city.

Sessions run Monday through Friday at 6pm and 7pm. Weekend availability by appointment. Groups capped at 5 per session.

Perfect for: Friend groups, date nights, birthday outings, coworkers ready for something beyond the usual happy hour, and anyone who has always been curious about horses but never had the right entry point.

Join us on a Saturday morning for a guided group trail ride through the Maryland countryside. Mr. Ray leads the ride from start to finish, so no experience is necessary. First-timers and seasoned riders are equally welcome. When the ride is done, we bring everyone together for a chicken and waffles brunch right here on the farm. Good company, open air, great food, and horses. There are very few better ways to spend a Saturday morning within an hour of Washington DC.

Dates are scheduled throughout the summer. Space is limited and spots fill quickly.
